An Amazing Wedding Day at the Barker house
Andre & Weston’s Wedding at The Barker House
The Barker House was the setting for this beautiful mid-October wedding for Andre and Weston. That is always a great time of year for weddings. The weather is still decent and, of course, all the beautiful colors that nature likes to bring us every Fall!
Prior to the ceremony, we all took a short journey to take some wedding photos at the Scituate Lighthouse. If you are looking for a waterfront location for your formals, be sure to check it out. It’s worth the very short drive to get there!
The Barker House: A Timeless Venue with Historic Charm
Nestled in the heart of Scituate, Massachusetts, The Barker House is a wedding venue like no other. With its rich history and picturesque surroundings, it’s the perfect location for couples seeking an intimate, elegant setting for their big day. Built in the 18th century, this historic house has been meticulously restored to blend its timeless charm with modern conveniences, offering the ideal backdrop for a memorable wedding celebration.
The Barker House exudes classic New England architecture, featuring period details that lend a sense of warmth and sophistication to your wedding. Whether you’re envisioning a garden ceremony, an indoor cocktail hour, or a formal reception, The Barker House has spaces that adapt to your vision. Surrounded by manicured gardens and lush greenery, the venue offers countless opportunities for stunning photos and outdoor festivities.
The Perfect Space for Your Wedding Reception
The Barker House provides both indoor and outdoor options for your wedding ceremony. Imagine saying your vows under a romantic garden arbor or in a cozy, historic room filled with your closest friends and family.
For Andre and Weston’s wedding, we had the ceremony indoors in their spacious and naturally-lit room. Light walls, dark wood floors, and a gorgeous fireplace! It’s truly a beautiful space to get married in!
Wedding Photos in the Garden Grounds
The combination of historic interiors and scenic outdoor landscapes ensures your formal wedding photos will be nothing short of breathtaking. From elegant shots by the garden to timeless portraits by the house’s iconic façade, this venue provides endless opportunities for creativity.
On this day, we decided to do the photos outdoors in the back. The sun was behind us, peaking through some of the landscaping and it was just beautiful. Useful tip: The door from the venue locks behind you when you close it. There’s a brick outside to hold the door. I found out the hard way that it is a long walk around to the front again lol
It’s a Fantastic Room for Wedding Receptions, Too
After the ceremony, the guests were relocated to some of the other interior rooms for cocktail hour. While we did the formals, the staff got the room all set up for the reception (and what a reception it was!)
DJ Alex Souto really got the dance floor moving. This family was a high-energy crowd, and it really shows in all of these photos. Definitely one of the most fun weddings that I photographed in 2024!
