AJ & Sarah’s Wedding Reception at the Tamarack Lodge in Connecticut

You may have already seen AJ and Sarah in my blog post about their awesome, rainy-day, backyard wedding ceremony in South Kingstown (if you haven’t, be sure to check it out, as it’s stunning) but here we are going to talk about their other wedding spot: The Tamarack Lodge in Voluntown, CT.

This particular wedding was a rainy day. It was never outright pouring, but it definitely was a bit wet at times. A little rain never hurt anyone, and we still managed to capture some wonderful moments, both inside and outside!

Taking a Look Around

We began indoors, getting some photos of the wedding dress, rings, and other assorted details. I always like to take a walk around the venue to get exterior detail shots. Sure, I got a little wet, but that’s ok.

The Tamarack Lodge is described as a “glamping” resort, so it definitely has that outdoorsy feel.

First Look

Arrowhead Acres provides countless opportunities for stunning wedding photography. From the natural beauty of the surrounding woods to the rustic charm of the barn, every corner of the venue offers a picturesque setting. The golden hour lighting on the property adds a magical glow to every shot.

In addition to all the beautiful colors (especially in the fall), there are several bridges that make great locations for wedding photos, including a covered bridge (always a favorite for couples)!

A Wedding Reception at the Tamarack Lodge

Tamarack has a variety of options for a wedding reception, including the use of an outdoor tent space as well as the interior of the lodge itself. With this being a rainy-day wedding, we used both of these spaces for different parts of the day.

Also available is a fantastic fire fit in the back, which did a great job keeping everyone cozy as the hours grew later. It’s also a great spot for some wedding photos of the happy couple 🙂
